Google Analytics adds real-time traffic function
Google is great. As much as people tend to hate large corporations, we still love Google. They give us so much great stuff for free. What’s not to like?
For instance, we love Google Analytics, the website traffic tool that tells you just about everything you need to know about your visitors short of their social security number. But, we never liked that it was never real-time traffic calculating. WordPress plugins such as Wassup did though. It’s just that, Wassup stinks for so many other reasons.
So now, we’re thrilled to hear that starting Thursday, Google has added a real-time traffic function. It’s available to some now, but will be available to all in the coming weeks.
This also means that you don’t have to pay for Chartbeat anymore, which does real-time traffic updates as well. I think they get about $10 a month for it, which isn’t a disaster, but why pay for it if you don’t have to?
