One Million Moms going after JC Penney for gay-related stuff again

Published by Micah Warren on

You may remember the group One Million Moms attacking JC Penney not too long ago for having Ellen DeGeneres as a spokeswoman. Hmmm…why would that be a problem? Oh! She’s gay! That’s right! What a big problem that is. JC Penney stood behind Ellen (rightfully so) and the OMM boycott failed.

But, they’ve found something else now to waste their time on. They are now outraged that in the JC Penney catalog, they have two moms and a daughter, and they mention that the two women are partners. Oh how dare they! If JC Penney keeps this up, the whole world will be gay by next week!

OMM wrote on their website (I’m not providing a backlink as I don’t want to help them with their SEO):

“[JCPenney’s] May catalog shows they are making a strong effort otherwise. On pages ten and eleven, under the title “Freedom of Expression,” you’ll find “Wendi and her partner Maggie and daughters” and again “Wendi, daughters Raven and Clover, and partner Maggie” in text. In the picture both women are wearing wedding bands.”

“Last time OMM contacted JC Penney store managers, we were brushed off. Some even experienced in person the store manager saying “Thank you” and walking off while their customer and our concerned members were in mid-sentence. OMM has been told that JCP corporate office told store managers to say “Thank you” and then walk away. If they want our business, then we will not be ignored!”

This part might be the most hilarious. You contacted store managers about something from corporate? Do you have any idea how stupid that is? Go into a McDonald’s and tell the store manager that you were offended by a McDonald’s Super Bowl ad and see how effective that is. “Make sure you tell corporate how angry I am!” “Yeah….uh huh. Will do. I’ll get right on that.” And you know corporate will listen to their store managers! They can’t really be serious, can they? These people are idiots.

OMM needs to find a hobby and stop wasting their time with this nonsense. I mean….you aren’t even going about this the right way. Go ahead, take your business elsewhere. JC Penney will be fine.

They proved it when they stood behind Ellen.
