Social media giant Facebook has agreed to purchase FB.com for a cool $8.5 million. The domain had been used by the American Farm Bureau Federation.
The original deal was announced back on November 15th, but financial details were not disclosed at the time.
“The farm bureau has agreed to five us FB.com and we in return have agreed not to sell Farm subsidies,” Zuckerberg told TechCrunch at the time.
FB.com is being used for Facebook employees for internal use. The last time Facebook made headlines for buying a domain, was when they bought Facebook.com for $200,000 back in 2005. At the time, they still used TheFacebook.com.
