As we continue to watch in amazement as Twitter grows exponentially by the day, it is still baffling that they haven’t really been able to monetize it. Sure, they’ve probably made a couple of bucks, but considering that has an Alexa rank of 9, it should be raking in more cash.
Here is Twitter’s latest attempt to do that. They have announced Promoted Accounts.
Basically, businesses can pay to be included in the “Suggestions for You” section, where you can see Twitter accounts that are related to your interests.
Depending on what Twitter charges, this could be a very valuable tool for companies looking to gain followers. Especially if you don’t have someone on staff that knows social media well.
