Tweet Anyone out there using Google Video? Didn’t think so. Then you won’t have to worry that Google announced this weekend that its shutting down Google Video. They want YouTube to be better prepared for the increasing amount of televisions that are connected to the internet, according to people who are familiar with the situation. Tweet Remember that neat clip that popped up a couple weeks ago from “The Today Show” in 1994? If not, it’s right here. The video shows Katie Couric and Bryant Gumbel openly wondering what the internet is. It’s not embarrassing, it was 1994! YouTube’s mobile viewership soars in 2010

Tweet YouTube revealed this week that their viewership on mobile devices grew quite a bit in 2010. Like, a whole lot. As in, tripled. Yep, they said that their mobile viewership hit 200 million viewers this past year. The site credited much of that to the announcement that Vevo’s huge music collection was added to its app for Android phones. And of course with all those viewers, YouTube will now try harder to monetize all this.
