Are you on Bluesky yet?

As you may have heard, many X (formerly Twitter) users have migrated from the platform and gone over to Bluesky. Elon Musk’s takeover of the platform has rubbed people the wrong way, especially in the way he’s chosen to manage it.

Sure, Musk promised that it would be an open forum that welcomed all opinions. But, that hasn’t exactly been the case. Liberals feel like they were silenced and/or canceled and/or banned from X while it’s become a free-for-all for misinformation and conspiracy theories.

After the Nov. 5 Presidential Election, many on the left and/or non-MAGA’s decided to call it quits. Once only available by invite only, Bluesky opened up the doors to the masses in February 2024. The latest numbers say that the platform now has 16 million users, raking in 800,000 in one day last week.

It’s a new alternative to Twitter/X and it’s relatively quiet right now, although you can see that many big names have climbed aboard. Maybe you’ll like it, maybe you won’t. But, so far it’s worth checking out. Right now, it’s like joining Twitter back in 2008. It’s new, people are exploring, following just about anyone just to create activity and carve a little niche.

All of that fun could very well end when the ads for Casino apps show up along with the myriad of bots that will surely make a home there. As of now, it’s fun and could potentially be a powerful marketing tool…until the ads and bots take it over and make it a mess.
