How to Find Your First Tweet as Twitter Turns 8
Believe it or not, Twitter celebrates its 8th birthday today! While not everyone was convinced the 140-character social platform would succeed, today’s anniversary certainly proves them wrong. It has now become a place for users to share information, often in real-time, leading to a big change in how we discover breaking news.
“Millions of prolific tweeters have made Twitter an exciting, fun and powerful place to connect with others,” says Gabriel Stricker, Twitter’s vice president of marketing and communications. “But each of you had to start somewhere.”
Today, “tweet” and “hashtag” are part of our lexicon. Twitter has become the place to live tweet television shows and sporting events, make stories and causes viral, and even connect people in person via tweetups.
To celebrate, Twitter has created this Tweet tool where you can find your #FirstTweet. If you were a little unsure what you were doing back then, don’t feel bad. We can all look back and have a good laugh together.
