Going too far?: Mercedes putting Facebook in their cars
Yes, we’re all aware that by now Facebook has become quite ubiquitous. You can log on and jump in the conversation from just about anywhere. But, this is getting a bit ridiculous.
Mercedez-Benz revealed at CES 2012 in Las Vegas that Facebook would be one of the apps available on its new Mbrace2 telematics systems, which will start appearing in their SL Series this spring. This app won’t be as complete as the regular version, but will be designed with drivers in mind and will focus on the location of friends and businesses.
I officially do not need someone knowing my whereabouts all the time. This just seems like it’s getting ridiculous. And wouldn’t that be just one more distraction for drivers? How is this a good thing?
The app won’t allow you to type any text in there which is good. But you can still tap here and there to let people know you are on your way or whatever.
Still, don’t see the need to Facebook all up in my business everywhere I go.
