Micah’s byline top 3 for Muck Rack in July

Micah’s byline top 3 for Muck Rack in July

You might remember us talking about my byline in probably the top website for PR/media folks called Muck Rack. I offered phone pitching tips for PR pros and it performed quite well. As of this posting, my article has 40 shares on Facebook and 150 shares on LinkedIn. I thought that was pretty good, but apparently it’s really good. I saw a tweet yesterday from @muckrack announcing that my article was one of the top three for all of July! And what’s neat is that one of the other three was written by my good buddy Nicole Fallon Taylor from […]

How to turn off Facebook Live notifications

How to turn off Facebook Live notifications

You may or may not have noticed that Facebook recently added its Live Videos feature where you can instantly connect your phone or device to Facebook and broadcast video live to your friends’ news feeds. They even get a notification with a little red dot that you’re live! I haven’t found too many people that are thrilled with this. Fine if you want to let people broadcast live, but I don’t need a notification when someone I know from high school wants to take a video of their dog eating. And most people agree with me. At first, Facebook made […]

Teens ditching Instagram?

Teens ditching Instagram?

Are teens ditching Instagram and heading over to Snapchat? According to a survey from Piper Jaffray, they are. In fact, Snapchat appears to have surpassed Instagram when it comes to teens’ most important social network. From Business Insider: In fall 2015, Piper Jaffray’s semi-annual survey of 6,500 US teens showed that 33% of them considered Instagram their most important social network. By this spring, that number had fallen to 27%. The story for Snapchat is the complete opposite. In fall 2015, just 19% of teens said it was their most important social network. That ballooned to 28% this spring, edging […]

Snapchat video traffic catches Facebook

Snapchat video traffic catches Facebook

Is Snapchat catching up to Facebook’s traffic? Not completely, but it looks like their video traffic has finally caught up. Fortune has an article that says that Snapchat’s video views are now five times what they were from this same time last year. That’s pretty insane. Marketers need to take note of this and if you haven’t employed a Snapchat strategy, maybe you should look into it. The article goes on to say that Snapchat’s video traffic is now equal to the views on Facebook: Snapchat’s video traffic has surged to 8 billion daily video views from 7 billion at […]

Work for free? (video)

Work for free? (video)

This video is pretty hilarious. This is what happens when an advertising agency documents the responses of other types of business owners when they are asked about working for free. We’re all too familiar with people asking us to get them media placements and then paying us afterwards. Nah, no thanks. The Youtube description: Architects don’t give away their blueprints. Diners don’t fork out free meals. Personal Trainers don’t sign over their intellectual property on spec. This video pokes fun at the speculative creative bidding process in new business pitches. We believe there’s a better way for agencies and clients […]

Bid4Assets on SeattlePI.com

Seattle used to be a two-newspaper city. The Seattle Times and the Post Intelligencer were around for a very long time, until the Post Intelligencer went entirely online about seven years ago. Now SeattlePI.com, the transition to online has gone very well. They have an Alexa rank of 6,750, which is incredibly high for a local outlet. So, it was nice to get some coverage for Bid4Assets.com on Tuesday on King County’s first-ever online tax-foreclosure auction: Bargain hunters will have the chance to bid on more than 100 properties in King County’s annual tax-foreclosed property sale. And forget the auction […]

Bid4Assets on KIMA-TV

Bid4Assets.com is a leading website that allows counties around the United States to hold their tax-foreclosure auctions online. Previously, you’d be basically shouting on the county courthouse steps in order to bid on these properties, which meant you also had to be local. Now, you can bid from anywhere. And their latest auction is going to be in Yakima County, WA on December 7th. So, we’ve been going after local press to let the good folks of Yakima know about this. We got a great response from KIMA-TV, the local CBS affiliate. They did a great piece on the upcoming […]
