You may have heard that Twitter was looking into buying SoundCloud, the music and audio-sharing company that’s been called the YouTube of audio. Well, a source tells Re/code that the deal is dead.the deal is dead.
Twitter apparently let a negotiating window expire and now the talks are off.
The German-based SoundCloud back in October claimed to have a whopping 250 million users. And if Twitter were to buy it, it probably wouldn’t have come cheap. They valued the company not long ago at around $700 million.
Oh well, the deal is off now so it doesn’t matter.
